What is health and Why health is important for us?

Before I begin, I would like to ask you some questions:

● What is health?

● Why health is important to be healthy?

● Are you all healthy?

● How can I say I'm healthy?

● What's the criteria?

Today in this article, we will try to findout answers of these questions.


◆ What is Health? 

According to WHO health is the state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. It's not only the absence of disease.

According to Hippocrates and Ayurveda Health is the state of body
and mind where there was a balance of certain ‘humors’.

Humors may be body fluid like hormones, blood & plasma.

Human body has a inner homeostasis. It's mean all factors are equal inside like temperature, pH, pressure ( blood pressure).

When this homeostasis unbalanced then we will become unhealthy. Homeostasis may be effected by outer factors.

Our body enzymes work very well on homeostasis.

Our health controlled by neural system,
endocrine system & our immune system and
That's why mind and
mental state can affect our health. Of course, health is
affected by

(i) genetic disorders – deficiencies with which a child is
born and deficiencies/defects which the child inherits from parents from birth;

(ii) infections and

(iii) life style including food and water we take, rest and exercise we give to our bodies, habits that we have or
lack etc.


◆ Why health is important for us ?


When people are healthy, they are more efficient at
work. Health and wellness increases productivity and brings economic prosperity.
Health
also increases longevity of people and reduces infant and maternal
mortality.

There are some tips to become health and live healthy lifestyle.

● Balanced diet

● Personal hygiene

● Regular exercise & yoga

● Meditation

● Take hygienic food and water

● Don't take more alcohol

● Don't smoke
